Meticulous Record Keeping

As a student’s academic path lengthens over the years, the records of what they have done can become difficult to keep track of. Report cards, progress reports, standards test scores, these are all invaluable tools for keeping track of how a student has fared academically. Not only that, it is very important to hold onto many of these documents for later use, and yet they always manage to disappear when we need them most.

Here at Optimus Learning School, After School Program and Tutoring Center in Brea, Fullerton, Yorba Linda, Diamond Bar, and Rowland Heights, we emphasize the importance of documenting all of your student’s records in our own online data base. The reason we do this is twofold. First, keeping these records means that you, as a parent, have access to them whenever they are needed. Second, and most importantly, we archive all of our student’s records so we can accurately judge the help we are extending to them. We ask for the most recent report card or progress report from all students signing up for our after school program in Brea. This information helps us not only to determine what kind of help we will need to give your student, but it also serves as a sort of “jumping off point.” After we have seen your student through an entire school year, our record keeping standards help us to see how much each student has improved.

In addition to keeping track of school grades, all Optimus grades are also kept on hand. For example, as outlined in previous blogs, our book club homework is assigned, done by the student, and graded by the teacher entirely online. All book club scores are kept online, and this serves much the same purpose as keeping our student’s school based records on file. After a few months in our book club class, it is our hope that our students become vocabulary and comprehension experts, and we can see that all by keeping track of their grades over those months. Finally, keeping Optimus homework scores online ensures that the teacher, administrator, and director all have simple and fast access to every student’s grades. With care, effort, and accountability coming from every level of our program, we ensure that all of our students are able to achieve at the highest level possible.

At Optimus, keeping your student’s records is the surest way to help us do the best we can as an after school program. Using report cards and progress reports as a way to judge how far all of our students have come has proven to be an effective method in personalizing our teaching methods and making them work for each individual student. Students in Brea, Fullerton, Yorba Linda, Diamond Bar, and Rowland Heights have all submitted their records to us, and we make every effort on a daily basis to ensure that our students improve upon their grades every semester. Come in today, and bring along your students latest report card or progress report too!
